What?! A new blog!

All right, all right! It's time...I realize it now. After YEARS of dragging my feet and skulking about lazily, I'VE STARTED A BLOG. A real one. Before, I had my Etsy shop linked to the blog and that was my best effort. Now it will be very interesting to see what I'm able to do with a REAL one. Time will tell...literally! I'm so busy, my head spins off my shoulders quite often. It's not a bad thing...I think it goes with the territory if you're a person with as many interests as I have and let's not forget the husband and the kids! I was talking to my best friend, Annie, about our lack of time and we basically decided it's SO worth it. If we weren't busy, it would mean our lives were plain boring with no kids, husbands, friends, book clubs, bunko nights, Charger parties, play dates, dance and guitar recitals, etc., etc., etc. I love my life! Every single night before I fall asleep, I thank God for my good fortune and this wonderful life I'm enjoying right now.

For now, most of my precious energy goes to the little shop on the flyer (that I created) for Out of the Blue and The Mermaid's Mercantile. It's a fun, fun, FUN shop located on So. Cedros in the Design District of Solana Beach. It's owned by my friend, Debi Dot, who will soon be a famous DESIGN STAR! Well, we hope anyway. She's auditioned for HGTV's show and has made it to the last few people a few times...her time has to come soon, right?! I think persistence will pay off! She's super talented and driven and she's sucked me right into her orbit! I'm proud to be a part of the Mercantile and proud to have my jewelry featured in her shop. She has an eye for talent and I'll take that as a compliment! You should SEE the talent showcased not only in her shop daily, but especially in our monthly Mercantile. Sometimes I get a little intimidated...especially when I haven't been making jewelry because I've been focusing on the marketing. There's that time thing I was talking about! I have too little. There's this thing called sleep that I'm forced to do...Sigh!

Anyway, come and visit us at the Mermaid's Mercantile the last Sunday of the month. It's always great to have friends visit. We're starting classes, too! I'm going to be teaching one on how to cut out silver, hammer, texture and stamp it. FUN. Just gotta find the best thing to use as a stand in for sterling silver...it's just too expensive! I'm thinking aluminum...hmmm. What do you think? My biggest fear is that no one will care and come to my class while the others are totally packed. It's the classic nightmare I have...throw a party and nobody shows. Then, of course, you gotta eat the food no one was there to eat, consequently gaining 10 pounds, becoming depressed and not able get out of bed, lose your job, alienate friends and family...what?! Do you see the spiral! Instead, I'm gonna visualize the best! It's all we can do, right?

The schedule of upcoming classes is below...they're quite affordable, aren't they? I made this flyer, too! The mermaid picture is an old watch advertisement. Very cool!
